The Ron and Christine LemondsEdward Jones Scholarship annually awards a $1,000 renewable scholarship to a student who is the dependent child of a home-office employee of Edward Jones. Recipients will demonstrate academic strength and financial need as an undergraduate at a nonprofit, nationally accredited two-year or four-year college or university. Children of general partners of the parent company, The Jones Financial Companies, LLP, may not apply for consideration.
Eligibility:
- Dependent child of a home-office associate of Edward Jones. Eligible associates work in the home office in St. Louis, MO, Tempe, AZ, Mississauga, ON, or as a home office home-based associate
- Graduating high school senior or current college student
- Cumulative 3.0 grade point average on a four-point scale, or the equivalent
- College preparatory academic record and potential for success
- Demonstrate unmet financial need. In general, unmet financial need will be defined as the difference between the cost of attendance and the sum of the student’s grant aid from other sources plus the Student Aid Index (as determined by the student’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
- Full-time enrollment at an accredited nonprofit two-year or four-year college, university, or technical college
Selection & Evaluation
Recipients will be selected by the St. Louis Community Foundation based on the student’s commitment to, and academic preparation for, higher education; the quality of the essay(s); and consideration of unusual circumstances. Officers or employees of Edward Jones play no part in the selection of award recipients. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please answer all questions that apply to you, even if they are not marked as required.
Recipients’ names, contact information, college, and major will be shared with Edward Jones. Financial information will not be shared.
Renewal
Renewal of the Ron and Christine Lemonds Scholarship is based on satisfactory progress toward a degree, continued demonstration of financial need, and submitting the renewal application on time. Please note that because the award amounts are based on available funding and financial need that can change from year to year, the amount of this scholarship award may change if a recipient applies for renewal awards in years to come
Notification
Application status will change from submitted to offered or denied in June. Applicants can view their status by logging in to their Scholarship Central account.
