Myrna and Daniel Raffkind established this scholarship in November 2000 in memory of their son, Benjamin Gimp Raffkind, to benefit students planning to attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University.

Benjamin Gimp Raffkind Memorial Scholarship
A) Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle;
B) Have a cumulative high school GPA of 80 (3.2 on a 4.0 scale); and
C) Exhibit community service and leadership.
$500/semester for up to 8 semesters
Each semester's payment is contingent upon meeting the following:
A) Recipient must attend college the fall semester immediately following selection;
B) Maintain full-time student status (typically 12 credit hours/semester for undergraduate studies);
C) Maintain a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA while in college; and
D) Attend any accredited college/university and major in their field of choice.
