Lauren P. Miller Scholarship
The purpose of the Lauren P. Miller Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to individuals who are participating in a Registered Apprenticeship Program with the US Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeships.* Although individuals of all trades will be considered, special attention will be given to the automotive and construction trades e.g. carpentry, plumbing and electrical.
*Employers who do not currently have a Registered Apprenticeship Program should contact Michael Broad, U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeships, at (307) 772-2448 for information on developing a program for your company.
Who is eligible?
Any Wyoming resident enrolling in a Registered Apprenticeship Program.
What is the amount of the scholarship?
At least 10 scholarships of $600 will be awarded each year. The number and amount of scholarships will vary in accordance to availability of funds.
What is the length of the scholarship?
1 year. The number and amount of scholarships will vary in accordance to availability of funds.
Scholarship recipients may then re-apply for additional years. Scholarship recipients are responsible for knowing which opportunities allow for re-application; they will not be notified about this specifically.

Personal Requirements: As stipulated by the fund, "worthy candidates should be non-smokers and non-drinkers of alcoholic beverages who would be willing to sign a statement to that effect."
The Wyoming Community Foundation has a 3-month probationary period. Apprentices who are cancelled from a Registered Apprenticeship Program during this time for any reason will be required to repay the scholarship amount in full to the Wyoming Community Foundation and will be ineligible for future Lauren P. Miller Scholarships.
