Allen Keeney was a Rock Springs High School art teacher. He was very involved in the Rock Springs community. From 1971 until 1991, he was the director of the Community Fine Arts Center. During his tenure there, he played a central role in bringing theater and other fine arts to Sweetwater County, including ballet and symphony performances. He created this scholarship to help needy students pursue the study of art in higher education.
ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP
A) Amount distributed is one $500 scholarship for one-academic year
B) Specific to graduating seniors of Rock Springs High School
C) First preference goes to those that wish to further their education in the study of art, but all areas of study are considered
D) Financial need must be demonstrated by completing the Financial Aid Affidavit on the application
E) Deadline date is February 15th
F) This is a one-year scholarship
G) Two letters of recommendation will be required as outlined on the online application
H) In addition to this application, upload 5 pieces of copied artwork that are original to the applicant on the online application
