Three $1000 scholarships are awarded by the association for postsecondary education.
Scholarship Requirements
A) Applicant must be an employee of El Dorado County and a member of the El Dorado County Employees Association Local #1; OR a relative of said member such a spouse, child, step-child, grandchild, or guardian thereof.
B) Applicant must complete this application on the Union's web site at www.edcea.org.
C) Applicant must submit an essay on ONE of the following topics: a) History of Unions or Organized Labor b) Famous Union Leaders c) How Public Employees Shape Society d) Union Contributions to the Labor Force Essay must be two and a half to three pages in length; typed, double-spaced, on 8 1/2" x 11" paper; and, the original copy. Put your name and essay title on EACH page in the upper right hand corner; cite research sources also.
D) Applicant must submit a short statement, two to three paragraphs at most, explaining "Where do you see yourself in five to ten years", including your educational and career goals.
E) Applicant must submit a transcript if still in High School or College (photocopy acceptable)
