Bethany Bible College was established in October 1945 by the Alliance of the Reformed Baptist Church of Canada. Popularly known as the “Holiness Bible Institute,” its main aim was to train ministers to serve the Reformed Baptist Church within the Atlantic region. In 1947, it transferred to Nova Scotia and became Bethany Bible College. Campus: Facilities, Residence and Location

Bethany is located in the town of Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada. It is chartered by the province of New Brunswick. The campus is divided between the upper campus on top of a hill and the lower campus off of Main Street. The area at the back side of the campus is circled by the Kennebecasis River. The Lower Campus consists of the Nicholson Hall (library, bookstore, computer lab, library staff offices) and the Burbary Administration Building (staff and faculty offices, two classrooms). The upper campus consists of the Admissions House (staff offices, meeting room); Bridgeo House (music faculty office, music practice rooms, information services offices); Faculty House (faculty offices, meeting room); Jo-Anne Phillippe House (female residence); Townhouse (16 apartments for married and single students); Ingersoll Dorm (male residence); Stairs Hall (cafeteria, classrooms); Student Center (staff offices, Blazer Grill, weight/exercise room, campus post office, TV and Recreation room); Tom Phillippe Dorm (split male and female dorm, Prayer and Devotional chapel); Saunders Irving Chapel (chapel, prayer room).

Student Services and Student Life

Bethany Bible College offers the following services to students: ATHLETICS; BOOKSTORE; SPIRITUAL LIFE (Chapel, Catacombs, Discipleship Groups, Encounter, EXALT!, Testify, Special Events, Summer Ministry Teams, Ministries, Abandoned Devotion Gathering); SPECIAL CAMPUS EVENTS (Blazer Deli socials, Monday night hockey games, Tuesday and Thursday chapels, Campus Assemblies, Catacombs, Collegiate athletic events, Community Outreach Ministries, Discipleship groups, Guest luncheons, Intramural athletics, Movie Nights, Open dorms, Prayer groups, Songwriters nights, and Student Missions Fellowship socials.); STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS (Student Council Executive, Class Presidents, Athletic Association, Drama Association, Outreach Association, Spiritual Life Association, Student Fellowship Association, Student Missions Fellowship, and Torch Yearbook Staff ); LIBRARY; CHAPEL;STUDENT HANDBOOK; and CAMPUS UPDATES.

Bethany Blazer Athletics are managed by the Student Services Department. It is a combination of intramural sports activities and collegiate sports that gives students the opportunity to participate in the activities involving teamwork, physical fitness, and leadership skills. The Bethany Blazer Collegiate Teams consist of Men’s Softball, Women’s Softball, Men’s Soccer/Co-ed Soccer, Co-ed Hockey, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Co-ed Volleyball. The Intramural Sports Opportunities for Students consist of Badminton, Ball hockey, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Curling, Golf, Soccer, Table Tennis, Tennis, and Volleyball.

There are many outdoor and recreational activities being offered by the College. Some of them include: canoeing and kayaking the Kennebecasis and Saint John Rivers; cross-country skiing at Fundy park or the walking trails of Sussex; downhill skiing and snowboarding at the nearby Poley Mountain Ski Resort; golfing at the Sussex golf course; hiking and camping at Fundy park, Caton’s island or the nearby “bluff”; horseback riding at circle Square Ranch; ice skating at the 8th Hussars arena or Sussex corner outdoor rink; indoor swimming at the fairway inn; sea kayaking in Alma on the Bay of Fundy; skateboarding at the 8th Hussars sports arena; and walking trails of Sussex.

Academic Programs

Some of the degrees that the College offers are: Bachelor of Theology, Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education, Bachelor of Arts in Christian School Education, Bachelor of Arts in Religion, and Certificate in Extreme Discipleship. Some of the major and minor programs of study that it offers are: Children's Ministry, Christian Counseling, Christian Education, Church Planting, Global Ministry, Music Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, and Youth Ministry.

Bethany Bible College offers the following scholarships: Presidential Leadership Corps (4 Year Renewable Scholarship); Program Director's Entrance Scholarship ($1,000); MK Scholarship (4 Year Renewable Scholarship); International Wesleyan Ministerial Scholarship (full tuition scholarship); Entrance Scholarships (up to $350); Wesleyan Campus Challenge/Wesleyan Bible Bowl Scholarships (up to $1,000 per semester; and Returning Student Annual Scholarships (up to $2,200 per year)
