Campus: Facilities, Residence and Location

The college has many campuses, and they include the Brockville Campus, Cornwall Campus, and the Kingston Campus. Brockville Campus has recently added new residences and made further developments in recent years. The Cornwall Campus has a beautiful park setting, with a backdrop of the St. Lawrence River. Kingston Campus is the largest facility, which boasts of state of the art technology and athletic facilities. The campus also offers housing accommodations in its three campuses. St. Lawrence College Residences offer the following amenities: bookstore, suites suitable for disabled students; on campus health centre at Kingston, and access to a doctor's office at Brockville and Cornwall; intramural and varsity sports; good access by bus to shopping centres and downtown; fully furnished suites (single or double rooms); easy access to public transit; common areas for group study and social activities; close to hiking trails and conservation areas; and access to college computer labs, library, dining services, and meal plans.

Student Services and Student Life

The College offers the following services to its students: Athletics & Recreation, Chaplain, Counselling, Disability Services, First Generation Students, Hairstyling And Esthetics, Health Insurance, Prior Learning, Tutoring, and Writing & Math.

The college’s leading voice for college students is the College Student Alliance (CSA). It is a non-profit member-driven association that represents the interests of 140,000 full-time students, and student council organizations at all the colleges across Ontario. They advocate on issues, such as student accessibility, financial aid, and tuition fees.

Notable Accomplishments

The annual result for the April 2009 Key Performance Indicators (KPI) indicate the following statistics: “78.8% of students were satisfied with the overall quality of services, programming and resources available to them at SLC; 86.5% of graduates were satisfied with the usefulness of their SLC education in achieving their goals after graduation; 91.6% of SLC graduates found employment within six months of graduation; 98.6% of employers were satisfied with the quality of the educational preparation of St. Lawrence College graduates.”

Kingston Information

Kingston, Ontario, is a Canadian city located at the eastern end of Lake Ontario, where the lake runs into the St. Lawrence River and the Thousand Islands begin. Kingston has developed a thriving artistic and entertainment life.
