Surrey encompasses land occupied by many Halqemeylem-speaking aboriginal groups. Settlers arrived first in Cloverdale and different parts of South Surrey first, and nearly all of their activities were harvesting oysters, fishing, farming, or setting up small stores.

There is a 42-seat orientation theatre and state-of-the-art exhibit at the Surrey Museum, where visitors could listen in on Surrey's stories. There is a textile library, a weaving studio and different exhibition themes. There is likewise an art gallery and live theatre performances at the Surrey Arts Centre. Concerts and several plays are performed at the Art Centre. Historical Stewart Farm showcases a restored farmhouse, root cellars, pole bars on the shores of the Nicomekl River and heirloom gardens. There are even year round tours by volunteers and employees dressed in Victorian-style clothes. Different eclectic activities consist of: heritage crafts, woodstove cooking and parlour games. Cloverdale is a historic centre recognized for its small town charm. Antique collectors and lovers would definitely find this a good place to visit to.

Serpentine Fen is a spectacular land within Surrey where roughly 3,000 species of wildlife are seen throughout the year. Amongst the animals consist of: birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects and fish. Picnic lovers can visit the covered picnic shelter, three-covered viewing towers, and some trails to make their experience much more exciting. Redwood Park features a diverse collection of trees seen all over the globe, like for instance France, Italy, Russia, Japan, California and Austria. They have 32 different species of evergreens and a 2-storey treehouse. Fraser Downs has a gaming floor with four hundred twenty slot machines, a new simulcast area for horse racing fans, an atrium-styled welcome centre, three restaurants, and a major show lounge with state of the art visual technology. Darts Hill Garden is a majestic land which comprises thousands of species and many plants from all over the world. It has been in existence for fifty five years, and it is globally-famous by professional and amateur gardeners throughout the globe.

Crescent Beach is located within the southeast corner of Surrey, and it is considered one of the sunniest beaches in the Greater Vancouver Region. Some of the most popular activities it offers are: kayaking, swimming, boating, crabbing and fishing. There are even stores nearby and restaurants along with ocean views. Bear Creek Park is amongst the city's more popular parks. It is perfect for outdoor activities and nature walks. Amongst the park's facilities comprise: sports fields, a running track, a swimming pool, picnic areas and shelters.
