The city of Powell River is located in the southwestern region of BC, but sits on the northern part of the Sunshine Coast. The city of River Powell is the seat of the Powell River Regional District. Most of the cities population resides on Malaspina Strait's eastern shores, that could be located between the Mainland and Texada Island.
