Kelowna City works along with its several community partners to help and assist the cultural needs of the city. The city received an award of $500,000 in the year 2004, for being named the Cultural Capital of Canada in response to its dynamic and vibrant Cultural District. For the arts, the Kelowna Community Theatre is operated by the City and boasts of an 853-seat location within the Cultural District. The Theatre has been bringing individuals together ever since the year 1062, and it is home to Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Kelowna, Kelowna Community Concert Association, Viva Musica and Theatre Kelowna Society. The City also has Public Art pieces located all through the whole area. These pieces are created by the community's people or non-profit groups. What's more, Kelowna City provides Arts Grants to non-profit arts and cultural organizations which produce yearly arts-focused pursuits in the City. They work in partnership together with the Kelowna Art Gallery, Kelowna Museum, Rotary Centre for the Arts and Parks Alive.

In the city of Kelowna, there are special events and cultural events. There is rarely any time that passes without their being anything new or fun to do. Those who would like the experience of festivals could come and enjoy the Mardi Gras Street Festival, Fat Cats Children's Festival, Parks Alive and Okanagan Wine Festival. Fat Cat Children's Festival is funded locally and operated by volunteers. It attracts various parents and kids each and every year. Mardi Gras provides restaurants and pubs all throughout the evening. There are also stage performances and children's activity zone including dunk tank and climbing wall. Okanagan Wine Festivals are held three times in the Okanagan Valley. Everybody is invited to attend educational seminars, eat native cuisine and sample award-winning wines. Parks Alive is a non-profit program that brings art and culture to Kelowna's parks and lakefront from the month of June to the month of September.

Vineyards are common all-around the south of the city, where the weather is really conducive for making wines. The City is the seat of the Regional District of the Central Okanagan, the third largest metropolitan area in British Columbia. It is also the third biggest in the British Columbia Interior. The city of Kelowna has numerous beautiful lakes and mild weather condition, that makes it one of the fastest growing cities within North America.
