Lincoln is the county seat of Lancaster County. It is the second most popular city within Nebraska State in the United States. The population of the city of Lincoln was estimated as 258,379 in the 2010 Census. The city of Lincoln is home of the University of Nebraska.

Lincoln was originally established in 1856 as the village of Lancaster. It later became in the year 1859 the county seat of the newly created Lancaster County.
