Grand Rapids is a city situated on the Grand River in the State of Michigan within the United States. It lies roughly 40 miles east of Lake Michigan. The population during 2010 was roughly 188,040 based on the census taken that very same year. Ford hails from the city of Grand Rapids and is the city's most famous son.

Amway's parent company, known as Alticor is likewise located here. There are approximately 12 universities and colleges situated in the region.

The manufacturing sector within the city has gone through a major decline even if manufacturing still contributes to the economy especially in the field of office furniture.
