Harry Arthurs Alumni Families Entrance Scholarship

Applicants must be seeking admission into the first year of undergraduate study, be a child, sibling or grandchild of a graduate holding a York University degree, have a minimum admission average of 90 percent (based on grade 12 U/M courses, or equivalent) and have a demonstrated record of participation and leadership in extracurricular student life. This award is renewable in years two, three and four of undergraduate study provided the recipient maintains a minimum grade point average of 7.8.

Process

To apply, submit the scholarships and bursaries application available through http://www.yorku.ca/myfile. You must select this award from the list available and complete the following sections: extracurricular activities, community service, and a personal statement. In addition, you must submit two letters of recommendation and a letter outlining your relationship to a York University alumni by the February 15 deadline. Additionally, applicants have the option to submit 1 supporting media piece such as a news article about accomplishments or successes or a photograph of volunteer work being carried out. Reference letters and supporting documents can be submitted by email to bursary@yorku.ca. If required, physical copies can be mailed Student Financial Services, Bennett Centre for Student Services, York University, 4700 Keele St., Toronto, ON, M3J 1P3 This scholarship cannot be held in conjunction with the York University Automatic Entrance Scholarship or the York University Continuing Student Scholarship.
