The YTA 50th Anniversary Bursary
The Yukon Teachers' Association commemorating its 50th anniversary in 2005 established a bursary $500 with the intention of supporting one or more Yukon students pursuing a post secondary education opportunity.
The applicants will be assessed using the following criteria:
A) The award will be made to promote a formal post secondary training or education activity –trades training, college or university.
B) The award will be made without regard to the specific area of study provided completion of the program will result in the granting of a training certificate, trades ticket, diploma or degree.
C) Preference will be given to applicants who have completed the major portion of their public school education in Yukon schools.
D) Awards may be made without regard to an applicant's receipt of other financial awards.
E) Where two or more applicants appear to qualify, financial need may be taken into consideration.
F) While the bursary may not necessarily be awarded each year, more than one bursary may be considered in a given year.
G) Applications must be received at the YTA office by August 31 of the award year.
