Threads of Life Scholarship

Scholarship Value: $2,500

Awards Available: 4

Award Deadline: Mar 15, 2026

Workplace safety lies deep in our hearts at Threads of Life. So a partnership with the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals is a natural fit. As part of our partnership, BCRSP has generously offered to fund the Threads of Life Scholarship.

Scholarships available

Awarded annually, four (4) x $2500 national scholarships will be made available to Canadian residents who are students enrolled, either full-time or part-time, in a college, university, or trade school program.

Eligibility

Threads of Life Scholarships may be applied for by any Canadian citizen or permanent resident who:

1. will be a full or part-time student in a college or university program, or a trade school, during the 2025-2026 academic year, and

2. has experienced a workplace tragedy, a work-related fatality, life-altering injury, or occupational disease — either to themself or involving a close relative (e.g. parent, sibling)

Threads of Life employees, children, or relatives of employees are not eligible for this scholarship award.

Application

All submissions must include a completed application form, a written response to the questions outlined on the application form, including an account of community involvement, a letter of confirmation or acceptance into a college, university or trade school program, and a copy of your most recent university/college/trade school transcript, or high school transcript if you have not yet completed one year of university/college/trade school program. The application must be completed in English.

Written Requirements

As part of the scholarship submission, the student must submit a written response to the question: “How the BCRSP/Threads of Life Scholarship will impact you and why you should be awarded the scholarship?”. Your response is to be a maximum of 1000 words, must be double-spaced, using a 12-point font, with one-inch margins, and must be written by you. In an effort to identify authentic, original answers that reflect your own experiences, submissions generated by AI may be disqualified.

Assessment Criteria

Eligible scholarship submissions will be reviewed/judged by the Scholarship Review Committee. BCRSP and Threads of Life reserve the right to verify the accuracy of submissions, and their decision is final.

Each written submission will be evaluated based on the applicant’s capacity to answer the question, organization of essay, unity and cohesion of thoughts, grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, etc.
