The Rolando Jimenez Memorial Foundation offers potential scholarships to children of deceased parents that are looking to further their education in college or trade school and found by our board to meet our criteria. Award amounts vary depending on donations made to the Foundation and the number of applicants approved but typically range between $500 and $1,500 per approved recipient. Funds are intended for a single semester and recipients are encouraged to apply again for additional aid each new semester.
Application windows are September 1st through February 28th for the Fall semester and March 1st through August 31st for the Spring semester. Recipients are typically notified in June and December, respectively. Recipients may be asked to produce documentation such as recent report cards, school enrollment, college applications, etc. Applications are reviewed by Foundation officers to decide which candidates are likely to benefit the most from financial aid followed by final approval by our board. Base eligibility is as follows:
- Loss of parent(s) due to death
- Residence before continued education is/was a DFW greater area county
- Applicant is a Senior in high school or current college/trade school student
- 3.0 or greater GPA on most recent report card
