Scholarship Program The Junior League of San Joaquin County is pleased to announce that we are seeking qualified applicants to compete for our annual Scholarship Award(s) for the 2025-2026 academic year. Scholarship(s) will be awarded to female students pursuing higher education . Applicants must demonstrate a strong sense of volunteerism and will receive $1,000. This year up to $5,000 will be awarded.

Junior League of San Joaquin County Scholarship Guidelines

Criteria 

Awarded to a female college-bound high school senior residing in San Joaquin County who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to volunteerism and community service.

Eligibility

  • Female high school senior, graduating at the end of the current academic school year (2025-2026).
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
  • Relatives of JLSJC Provisional, Active, Sustainer, Honorary, or Advisory Board Members are not eligible.

$1,000 scholarship

Application Deadline

Application and required paperwork must be emailed to Scholarships.JLSJC@gmail.com by March 13, 2026. Applicants will receive an email confirming receipt of the submission.

Application Components

Applicants must submit all of the following:

1. Application (page 2);

2. Official high school transcript;

3. Essay responding to the following prompt. The typed essay should be between 400-500 words, double-spaced, and font-size 12 in Times New Roman;

Essay prompt: Tell us all about your volunteer activities during high school. Why is volunteerism important in our community?

4. Two letters of recommendation: (i) one must be from an agency or organization with which the applicant has volunteered; and (ii) the second must be from a high school teacher or guidance counselor;

5. Community Service Form (page 3 below) demonstrating a minimum of 50 volunteer hours; and

6. Recent photo.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Number of Awards

5 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded. Scholarship recipients will be notified by email on or before May 6, 2026.
