Circle City Classic Scholarships

Indiana Black Expo, Inc. is committed to assisting Indiana students in their pursuit of higher education. Scholarships will be awarded to current high school seniors and students currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution who exhibit outstanding leadership, scholarship, and community service. Over $5 million has been awarded to students since 1984.

Emphasis will be placed on financial need and first-generation students. Each applicant will be evaluated based on the application information provided and recipients will be selected by a review committee. The scholarships are funded by proceeds from the Circle City Classic Football Game and are payable upon recipient’s full-time enrollment in a post-secondary institution.

• Must be a high school senior or an undergraduate student
• Must be an Indiana resident
• Must have demonstrated academic success with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Must enroll full-time at an accredited college, university, community or junior college, or vocational/technical program for all of the application year.
• Must demonstrate financial need and/or must be a first-generation college student (first to enroll in a post-secondary education institution in your immediate family)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident in possession of a valid Alien Registration Receipt Card (INS Form I-551, commonly known as a “green card”)
• Must complete a scholarship application
• May not be a family member of IBE Board of Directors or staff  which includes children, siblings, parents, uncles, aunts, first cousins, grandparents, nieces, and nephews
• Must not be placed on academic probation by the university to receive the second disbursement of the annual scholarship award
