Epilepsy Foundation New England Scholarships

Scholarship Value: $2,500

Awards Available: 4

Award Deadline: Mar 30, 2026

For people with epilepsy, scholarships can offer a helpful financial boost for vocational training, college, or graduate school.

Joseph's Hope Scholarship Program

Our Scholarship Program offers financial assistance to people who live with epilepsy and are seeking post-secondary education or vocational training.

Epilepsy Foundation New England grants at least four $2,500 scholarships each year.

The Scholarship Program is funded in large part by Frank and Vicky Salituro in memory of their son Joseph, pictured below, who died at the age of 27 from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) in 2011.

Frank has founded several bands over the years, most recently Almost the Cure (ATC).  The band has raised more than $250,000 for the Joseph's Hope Scholarship Fund & Financial Assistance Fund.  All coming from the biopharmaceutical industry, although different companies, members of ATC are as passionate about their music as they are of their quest towards scientific breakthroughs and the discovery of new medicines.  ATC has embarked on a mission of becoming a high-energy, edgy, and most of all, fun rock and roll band, along with fostering a strong sense of community.

Matthew Siravo Memorial Scholarship

Epilepsy Foundation New England awards the Matthew Siravo Memorial Scholarship for college-bound high school seniors, residing in the State of Rhode Island, and diagnosed with epilepsy.  This scholarship is awarded as part of the above application process.
