Eligibility Requirements and General Information
- Applicants must be a graduating high school senior and be of Italian descent whose parent, grandparent, great grandparent, aunt or uncle is a member of the Dante Club or Dante Club Auxiliary in good standing.
- Successful applicants or their respective accredited college, university, or vocational educational institution must provide verification of enrollment at an accredited college, university, or vocational educational institution prior to funds being dispersed. Any major or course of study will be considered.
- Applicants are solely responsible for all matters related to this application. All requested documentation must be provided as detailed on the checklist below. Any documentation provided subsequent to the initial application must include the students full name and be addressed in care of the Scholarship Committee.
- Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the successful applicant with receipts documenting funds expended by the successful applicant to the respective accredited the college, university, or vocational institution. Scholarship funds may also be paid directly to the accredited college, university, or vocational educational institution on behalf of the successful applicant. Funds may be used for one or any combination of the following: tuition, fees, books, supplies, and/or room and board.
- Scholarship applications will be accepted January 1 through March 31 of each year. Scholarships will be awarded in the Spring/Summer of the same year. Total number of scholarships awarded and denomination will vary depending on funds available. All qualified applicants are invited to apply. An award may be up to $2,000 per successful applicant.
Application Requirements
- Completed (including all required signatures) Dante Club application form. Required signatures are: Student and a parent.
- Two letters of recommendation (from non-family members).
- High school or current educational institution transcript covering entire enrollment period.
- Two-page personal essay detailing educational and career objectives, past or current extracurricular activities (including but not limited to volunteer and community service, scholastic organizations and clubs, civic organizations and clubs, student government and other leadership positions, sports, etc.) personal and economic challenges, honors and awards received, and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals. Also list all scholarship names and amounts for which you have applied for and received.
- Note: Panel interviews may be required of potential scholarship finalists.
