Texas UPMA Memorial Scholarship

Each academic year, Texas UPMA offers college scholarships to children and grandchildren of Texas UPMA members, retired Texas UPMA members, or deceased Texas UPMA members who are entering their first year of college. The State Board of Directors will determine the value of the scholarships from the funds raised from the previous year contributions, money raised by the chapter, money from the endowment fund, and money budgeted by the Board of Directors.

Good character, scholastic achievement, leadership qualities and the ability to follow instructions are the criteria by which your application will be judged with some consideration for financial need. Only students of outstanding merit, who show an appreciation of the value of education and who are willing to struggle to achieve success will be considered for this award. While elaborate presentation is unnecessary, careless presentation will handicap the applicant.

All scholarships awarded will be conditioned upon the enrollment of the recipients in an undergraduate program in an accredited college, university, or trade school. Applications are accepted beginning January 1st of the current year. The application must be received no later than May 13th, 2026.

Applications will be judged by the scholarship committee. The names of the winning recipients will be announced at the state convention of Texas UPMA.

1. Eligible applicants must be children, stepchildren, grandchildren or step-grandchildren of Texas UPMA members, retired Texas UPMA members, or deceased Texas UPMA members. Entering their first year of college or trade school.

2. The Texas UPMA Memorial Scholarship Fund will accept applications postmarked January 1 through April 28, 2026.

3. The Scholarship Committee will meet during the chapter’s annual state convention to review the applications. They will be judged on financial need, extracurricular activities, and scholastic achievement. The scholarships will be awarded at this chapter’s annual state convention.

4. The applicants who are not chosen to receive a scholarship will not be notified.
