The Valley Club Employee Scholarship Fund offers education scholarships to employees, spouses, and children of The Valley Club employees. The purpose of the Valley Club Employee Scholarship Fund is to provide opportunities for eligible high school and college students to pursue their career goals and encourage students of any age to continue education and enrichment beyond high school.
Valley Club Employee Scholarship applicants must be:
- A new employee who works at least 160 hours before July 1, 2024. OR
- An employee who worked a minimum of 320 hours in the prior calendar year and is scheduled to work during the current calendar season. OR
- A former recipient re-applying for 2024 who meets the criteria valid for 2023 but not for 2024. This is a onetime exception.
- Or a spouse or dependent child of such an employee. Dependent children are defined as biological, grand-, stepor legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
- Must be a graduate (or soon to be graduate) from an accredited high school or have a General Equivalency Diploma from an accredited institution.
- Must have qualified entrance (or plans to enroll) to an educational program during the Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 terms in the United States wherein a degree or certificate of completion can be earned. This includes, but is not limited to junior college, two or four-year college, trade school or certificate programs, and higher education beyond the scope of a bachelor’s degree.
- Must maintain a 2.0 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA), or better.
Non-renewable Scholarship:
- The scholarship is valid only for the academic school year in which the applicant applied, or received an award. This scholarship is not renewable. No holdover or guarantee of any kind is made for a scholarship award in any future academic year. The applicant is solely responsible for completing an application and meeting all the deadlines if they wish to be considered for a scholarship.
- Every person must apply annually for this scholarship opportunity and meet the eligibility requirements at the time of application submission. We encourage previous award recipients to apply annually.
- All persons can be awarded a maximum of 5 times.
Additional Programs:
- Adult Basic Education Program: Throughout the year, the scholarship fund will provide any employee, their spouse or dependent children of an employee the opportunity to earn their high school diploma, obtain their GED and learn English. The fund will provide monies to pay for preparation and exam fees per person enrolled.
All eligibility criteria will be reviewed and approved by the committee each year.
