The Trustees of the Richard F. Walsh/Alfred W. Di Tolla/Harold P. Spivak Foundation are pleased to offer ten scholarship awards each year. Each winner of a scholarship will receive a total of $10,000 in scholarship funds which will be paid out at $2,500 per year over a four-year period. Counting the 2024 awards, the Foundation has assisted 130 students in the pursuit of a college education.
The deadline for the application for Annual Scholarship of the Richard F. Walsh/Alfred W. Di Tolla/Harold P. Spivak Foundation is December 31st of each year, there are no exceptions made for this deadline. To be considered for the scholarship, you must mail in the completed application form by the deadline date of December 31st or the application mailed must be postmarked by December 31st. The ancillary documents required to be submitted with the application, including the official high school transcript, recommendation letter(s), and a list of extracurricular activities, including role and duties, may be sent in by the first week of March the following year.

Q: Who is eligible to apply?
A: To be eligible Richard F. Walsh/Alfred W. Di Tolla/ Harold P. Spivak Foundation scholarship, the applicant must:
- Be the child of a member in good standing of the IATSE, grandchildren are not applicable to apply;
- Be a high school senior at the time of application. You are not eligible to apply if you have already commenced college or university and you cannot apply if you have decided to start college or university a year after graduation; and
- Have applied, or be about to apply for admission to an accredited college or university as a fully matriculated student, which will lead to a bachelor’s degree.
Q: Are Canadian students eligible?
A: Yes, Canadian students are eligible to apply.
Q: How can I apply?
A: Simple! Just download the application. After you complete it, mail it, along with your official high school transcript, letter(s) of recommendation, and a list of extracurricular activities to the Foundation Office. E-mailed applications will not be accepted.
Q: When is the deadline?
A: The completed application must be received or postmarked by December 31 of each year. The scholarship winners will be notified on or before the following June and will be announced in the following issue of The Official Bulletin.
