That’s why we’re excited to help those who have had to overcome adversity achieve their academic goals. The Litner + Deganian Resilience Award—inspired by L+D attorney Paige Wheeler, who made a remarkable recovery after sustaining a traumatic brain injury during her final semester of high school—is a $2,500 scholarship awarded annually to one deserving recipient.

- 18+ years of age

How to enter
Write an essay about a time in your life when you had to overcome a difficult circumstance. How did you show resilience and determination? Who supported you on this journey? In 400 words or less, please share how you overcame adversity and how that has impacted your academic goals.
Application Process:
- Applications must be submitted online by Friday, April 12th
- Required documents include:
- Proof of Admission/attendance at an accredited GA school
- Transcript
- Online Submission of Essay
- Incomplete or late applications may not be considered.
Selection Process:
- Scholarship recipients will be selected based on essay completion, applicants ability to show determination, grit, and resilience in the face of adversity
- The selection committee/judges’ decision is final and not subject to appeal.
Scholarship Award:
- The scholarship amount is one-time award of $2500
- Funds will be disbursed directly to the recipient’s educational institution for tuition, fees, books, or other educational expenses.
- Recipients must provide proof of enrollment before funds are disbursed.
