You can volunteer your time to organizations fighting for causes you care about or volunteer resources to those providing to community members in dire need. Regardless of the approach, engaging with your local community isn’t just about personal fulfillment; it’s a profound honor that enriches the lives of everyone involved.
To highlight these worthy causes and the students who help them grow, we are offering the 2024 Selfless Service Scholarship! This $1,000 opportunity will be awarded to a student who writes an informative essay discussing their work in supporting their community through local organizations, groups, clubs, or on an individual basis. Your essay should celebrate the collective spirit of giving and inspire others to actively participate in building a stronger, more resilient community. Additionally, applicants are asked to provide school transcripts and their professional resume. The student demonstrating outstanding commitment and impact will be chosen as the recipient of this scholarship, assisting them in furthering their education.
The deadline to apply for the 2024 Selfless Service Scholarship is October 31, 2024.
Eligibility
- The scholarship is open to any legal resident of the United States residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and who is a current high school senior, vocational student, college student, or graduate student who is enrolled in a vocational program or two to four year post-secondary institution for the Spring 2025 Semester.
- Dan Doyle Law Group employees are not eligible to participate, as well as their immediate families (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), and any persons living in the same households of such individuals (whether related or not).
- Candidates for this scholarship should be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
Application Requirements
- The candidate must submit a 750-1000 word essay response to the prompt: Write an essay that delves into the collective efforts within your community to support and uplift one another. Explore the various ways in which individuals come together to volunteer, collaborate with organizations, and provide aid to those in need. Highlight the transformative power of community engagement and the ripple effect it creates in fostering a culture of compassion and solidarity.
- Please note that all essays will be checked for AI writing. If AI writing is deemed present in the essay, the application will be denied.
- The candidate must submit a professional resumé that lists their experience, both professional and academic.
- The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, as well as the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students must also submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
- Preference will be given to student’s either from or attending secondary school in the state.
