The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Foundation is offering scholarships to students interested in pursuing a degree within the field of agriculture. Special consideration will be given to students pursuing a career in beef cattle production. This scholarship is a one-year award. Recipients are eligible to re-apply for an additional year, however recipient is not guaranteed an additional year. The number of scholarships and the amount awarded annually is dependent upon funding.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the 2026-2027 TSCRF scholarship, an applicant must:
- Be accepted or enrolled at an accredited university in Texas or Oklahoma and pursuing a degree program in agriculture or an agriculture-related program (Animal Science, Pre-Vet, Agribusiness, Range Management or Wildlife) and plan to work in the field of agriculture.
- Be a citizen of the United States and a resident of the State of Texas or Oklahoma.
- Be a member or sponsored by a member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Transcripts from all colleges attended must be submitted. If currently a high school senior, please include high school transcript.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation from someone other than relatives.
- Have a background that includes beef cattle production.
Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, gender, religion or ethnicity.
Scholarship Award
Each scholarship will be paid by check payable to the university that the student will be attending during the upcoming 2026 fall semester. Payment to the University is dependent on the recipient registering for the major designated on the application. The check will be issued by the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Foundation and mailed to the university. The scholarship will be paid in two equal payments. One payment will be made for the fall semester and the second payment for the spring semester.
In the event the scholarship recipient fails to meet the enrollment requirements by Sept. 30th, the award will be forfeited. Should the recipient fail to meet the requirements to receive the second half of the scholarship funds, the award will be forfeited.
Failure to meet any of the award requirements will be considered a breach of the scholarship agreement and is grounds for revoking a scholarship.

Any application not filled out completely and/or missing any of the required documents will be deemed incomplete and will not be considered.

All information provided on the application will be handled in a confidential manner by the Foundation.
Please complete the application in its entirety and upload the following required documents:
- A photo of applicant, headshot is preferred (size for printing: 4"x6" or 3"x5"). When uploading your photo, it needs to be in a jpg format.
- Transcripts (preferably official transcripts, however if official transcripts are not available by the application deadline, we will accept unofficial transcripts).
- Personal Essay telling us about yourself, your educational objectives, what life’s work you are preparing yourself for by attending college and why you believe you should be a recipient of this scholarship. Also include in your essay: “How you intend to participate in and contribute to the cattle industry and culture.”
- Two recommendation forms completed by someone other than a relative utilizing the form provided or two recommendation letters. Recommendation forms MUST be mailed to our office.
