REV. DR. A.W. WATKINS HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
- Must be a resident from the Central Alabama area. All counties and cities within a 50-mile radius of Montgomery, Alabama defines the Central Alabama area.
- Must be a graduating senior.
- Must have a minimum SAT score of 830 or ACT score of 17.
- Must have a 2.5 or higher-grade point average.
- If you are 18 or older you must show proof that you are a registered voter.
- Must submit two letters of recommendations (e.g. Guidance Counselor, Pastor, Deacon or Community Leader / Organization) not to exceed one page. ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE MAILED DIRECTLY TO THE REV. DR. A.W. WATKINS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION, INC: P.O. BOX 8045: MONTGOMERY, AL 36110
- Must submit a typed 500-word essay (must be double-spaced) and must utilize the Modern Language Association (MLA) format. Essay Topic: What will be your contribution to making the world a better place to live? Where do you see yourself in the next five (5) years? Punctuation, spelling and grammar will be checked thoroughly.
- Must mail official transcript by February 28, 2026.
- Must provide a picture with the application packet. (The picture will be used for foundation website)
