The One AWWA Operator Scholarship is funded through the support of AWWA’s The Water Equation Campaign and the Indiana Section AWWA. The One AWWA Operator Scholarship will be awarded to up to five individuals each year based on merit. Two scholarships will be awarded in each of the five Districts of the Indiana Section. Funds must be used to attend Operator School in preparation for the Water Treatment and Water Distribution operator certification exams.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a current water operator or seeking to enter the water operator profession.
  • Applicant must be pursing an Operator’s License in the State of Indiana.
  • Applicant must reside or work within the geographical boundaries of Indiana.
  • Acceptance of scholarship constitutes permission to use recipient’s name and story for purpose of promotion.

Application Process and Deadline

  • Complete application form including an essay of career objectives.

Scholarship Amount

  • Ten (10) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded, to two applicants in each of the five Indiana Section AWWA Districts. Funds will be used for the registration for the 2023 Operator School training, the cost of books for the course, and mileage and meals for the recipient. Funds for the course will be paid directly to the Operator School Training and to AWWA for the purchase of the books on behalf of the recipient. Reimbursement will be made directly to the operator for mileage/meals upon completion of the course and submission of a mileage log and receipts. Operator School will begin on or around August 15, 2023.
  • Scholarship money must be used by the recipient only and is non-transferable.
