The Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers (AFCCE) was founded in 1948 as a professional association of communications engineers practicing before the Federal Communications Commission. Engineering for broadcast stations in the AM, FM and TV services, for microwave, cellular radio, PCS, paging systems, cable systems and for satellite facilities are some of the areas in which AFCCE members offer their professional services. Membership is offered to technical personnel and to other professionals sharing an interest in communications engineering.

AFCCE awards cash scholarships each Spring and Fall to junior, senior and graduate engineering students who have an intention to pursue a career in telecommunications engineering.

Through its Scholarship Committee, AFCCE also administers the joint IEEE Broadcast Technology Society/AFCCE Jules Cohen Memorial Scholarship, the E. Noel Luddy Memorial Scholarship sponsored by Dielectric, Inc. as well as the Byron St. Clair Memorial Scholarship.

Applications deadlines are October 31 for the Spring semester and May 31 for the Fall semester.  Applications received after the cut-off dates may be held for consideration for the next semester.

Applicants will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible. AFCCE has four scholarships available, each with different qualifications. Three scholarships are available for upper-division (Junior and Senior) students and graduate students; one scholarship is available to lower-division (including community college) students.
