Established to support students native to the five boroughs of New York City, with preference to natives of Queens, pursuing a degree in live entertainment, with a focus on music. Career pathways can include performance, live production, music engineering, music business and related fields of study.
Eligibility and Guidelines:
- Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student with a minimum of 60 credits earned, enrolled at an accredited college or university at the time of the award in the fall semester
- Applicant may attend a university anywhere in the U.S. but must hold a permanent address within one of the five boroughs of New York City
- Applicant must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
- Applicant must be pursuing a degree related to a career in live entertainment
- Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- This is a one-time award to be paid directly to a qualified educational institution
Application Guidelines:
- Complete the Scholarship Application Form
- Provide a student copy of their college transcript to confirm their major and GPA
- Submit a resume or CV
- Provide proof of enrollment from the educational institution
- Provide two (2) letters of recommendation from non-Live Nation or affiliated industry professionals or instructor(s)
- Write an essay on the inspirational moments, people, or aspects of the industry that provide the motivation to pursue a career in the music industry. The essay should not exceed 500 words and should include the student’s long-term professional goals within the live entertainment industry.
- In addition to the application essay, the scholarship recipient may be required to write a final impact essay at the end of the school year updating Music Forward on how the funds supported their scholastic journey and progress towards their long-term careers goals.
