The Higher Foundation Scholarship promotes post-secondary education by providing merit-based financial aid to Georgia college students. Higher Scholars will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship for the selected semester to help cover their cost-of-attendance expenses. We select Higher Scholars based on their academic success, leadership skills, service, and professional development. Our scholarship application has a rolling deadline, so students are encouraged to apply at any time.

Stage 1: Application
Application Requirements:
- Official Georgia College Transcript with a minimum 2.5 GPA
- One-page essay: 12-point Arial font, single-spaced, and the topic: “If you could go back in time to serve with one historical community leader, who would it be and why?”.
- One-page resume
- Professional Headshot
Stage 2: Selection
If you are selected as a top applicant, in lieu of an interview, you must submit a storytelling video for The Give Higher Campaign by either August 1st for Fall semester and January 1st for Spring semester along with your Enrollment Verification from the Office of the Registrar. The video instructions can be found online. We will score your video based on our video requirements and your storytelling skills.
Stage 3: Approval
Once selected as a Higher Scholar, the scholarship payment will be sent directly to the student’s post-secondary institution by August 15th for Fall semester and January 15th by Spring semester. Higher Scholars are encouraged to submit a Higher Testimonial once the scholarship award has been received.
