The Higher Foundation Scholarship is merit-based financial assistance that helps Georgia college students secure their basic needs. Our scholarship award is $2,000.00 split between the Fall and Spring semester of the awarded academic year. Our scholarship recipients are selected based on their academic success, career development, and servant leadership. Our open application period is May 1st through August 1st each academic year. The Higher Foundation Scholarship Application

Please read through each stage carefully to understand our scholarship process.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be enrolled in a Georgia-accredited institution pursuing either a Certification, Diploma, or Degree including Associates, Bachelors, Masters, & Doctorate (High school students in dual-enrollment programs are not eligible.)
  • Must be enrolled for both the Fall & Spring semester of the awarded academic year.
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA and maintain a minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA during the awarded academic year.
  • Must have volunteered with a service organization for at least 1 year.

Application Requirements:

  • Official Georgia college transcript
  • One-page essay
  • One-page resume
  • Verification of Service Letter
  • Headshot with a backdrop, white wall, or outdoor background. (Blurry photos, AI photos, and selfies are not accepted.)

Application Period: May 1st through August 1st each academic year

Award Amount: 

  • $2,000.00 total
  • Two payments of $1,000.00 per Fall & Spring semester of the awarded academic year.
  • Awards are sent directly to the student via PayPal.

Selection Process:

We select a maximum of 10 top applicants by September 1st to continue our application process. We select our top applicants by using a merit-based scoring system. Students who are not selected as top applicants are encouraged to request need-based aid through The Higher Foundation Grant. Students may also reapply for our scholarship once they have improved their application.

Application Requirements:

If a student is selected as a top applicant, he or she must submit the following by September 15th:

  • The Give Higher Campaign Video Submission (Please follow the instructions here)
  • Proof of Enrollment from the Office of the Registrar to prove you are enrolled in a Georgia-accredited institution for the current semester.
  • PayPal information to process the scholarship award in case you are selected as a scholarship recipient. We do not process our scholarship awards via cash, check, or any other payment method.
