Scholarships and awards are available for individuals who are enrolled in health care aide, nursing or allied health post-secondary studies through one of the listed academic programs between September 2022 and August 2023.

All scholarships and awards are generously supported by donors to The Bethany Care Foundation.

Who Can Apply?

Scholarships are available to any individual who is enrolled in nursing, health care aide or allied health post-secondary studies through one of the selected programs from September 2022 to August 2023:

  • Alberta Business and Educational Services
  • ABM College
  • Bow Valley College
  • CDI College
  • Columbia College
  • Medicine Hat College
  • MTG Healthcare Academy
  • Norquest College
  • Red Deer Polytechnic
  • Wilfrid Laurier University
  • University of Alberta
  • University of Calgary

Scholarships up to $3000 in value will be awarded to selected applicants. Applications from other post-secondary schools and universities not listed above will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

How Many Times Can I Apply?

You may apply in any year that you meet the criteria above provided you have not received a scholarship from Bethany in the past. Each year you apply, you must submit a new, updated application form with current transcripts.

Are There Other Considerations?

Scholarships are taxable in the year in the award year. All awardees must submit their social insurance number to issue a Revenue Canada T4A form. If you receive a scholarship and withdraw from your program before completing the academic year, you must return the award to Bethany.

How Are the Scholarships & Awards Selected?

The Bethany Care Society Scholarships & Awards Program recognizes scholastic excellence, clear career goals and contributions to continuing care. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee that includes Bethany Board members, leadership team representatives, and others as appropriate. Applicants will be advised of the committee’s decision in January 2023. Scholarships will be awarded at an event recognizing students’ outstanding achievements.
