If you are a college junior enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university, are engaged in pre-dental studies, have a 3.5 GPA or better, you are eligible to apply for this one time $1500 scholarship. Send us a copy of your school transcript along with an essay of 750 words or less stating, “Why would you like to become a dentist?”

Applications are due by December 1st of your junior year.  A winner will be notified by March 15th of the junior year.

Your Essay

Your essay should be between 750 words or less in length. The essay should state why you would like to become a dentist.

All essay submissions will be judged for tone and sincerity. While expertise is not required for this essay, it is helpful. All essays must be checked for punctuation, sentence structure, and grammar prior to submission in order to be considered.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled in a dental program and have a 3.5 GPA or better in order to be considered. Proof of your enrollment in your program  and copy of your last transcript may be requested as a part of determining your eligibility for this scholarship

Submission Process

  • Write and save your essay in Microsoft Word. It should be submitted via email to info@drsamsavar.com no later than 11:59 PM PST on December 1st of your pre-dent Junior year.
  • Make sure the file name includes your first and last name, and the name of the school where you are currently enrolled. For example, you can name your file in this fashion: JOHN_SMITH_UNIVERSITY_OF_WASHINGTON.docx

In the body of the email include the following details:

  1. Your Contact Information (First and Last Name, Email Address, Telephone Number, Permanent Mailing Address)
  2. Name of the School Where You are Currently Enrolled
  3. Name of Degree/Education Program

All entries will become the sole property of Aalam Samsavar DDS to be used at the discretion of Aalam Samsavar DDS and his staff with no recompense to the author.

The payment of $1500 will be distributed to the winner in the form of a stipend after the submission by March 15th of the Junior year.
