The Vietnamese Physician Association of Northern California (VPANC) is pleased to announce the 2025 30th Annual Scholarship Awards Program for outstanding Vietnamese high school seniors. Each award given will be $2000. We encourage all Vietnamese students meeting the requirements to apply.
Requirements
The applicant must:
- Be of Vietnamese descent
- Be a high school senior currently living in Northern California
- Be attending college in the summer or fall of 2025
- Have an un-weighted GPA of 3.7 or greater
- Submit the following documents:
- A completed three-page application (one-page application, one-page list of extracurricular activities and awards/achievements, and a one-page personal essay)
- an official high school transcript
- a copy of the official SAT or ACT scores (optional)
- two letters of recommendation from teachers, advisors, or mentors who are familiar with the applicant's academic work and other attributes (can email directly - see below)
- a copy of your parents' most recent income tax return (2024) or other means of determining your family's income.
Selection Process
In addition to the requirements mentioned above, the Scholarship Committee will take into consideration the following:
- Level of financial need
- Quality of your essay
- Extent of extra-curricular activities and community involvement
- Interpersonal communication skills (finalists may be selected for a phone interview)
Application Deadline
The completed application and ALL supporting documents can be emailed or sent TOGETHER and postmarked no later than April 15, 2025. You will be notified via email by May 9, 2025.
