The California State P.E.O. Scholarship Application season is now open and applications will be accepted through January 15, 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year. Completed packets, including all required attachments, must be submitted no later than January 15, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a woman
- Must have permanent California residency
- Must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S. or Canada, and be able to provide proof if requested
- Must be a high school graduate (or equivalent) at the time of scholarship funding next Fall, 2026, and will be/plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the U.S. or Canada at that time
California State Chapter P.E.O. has four Scholarship Fund groups that administer more than 50 individual scholarships. One application form submittal encompasses any combination of the four scholarship fund groups listed on this page. Each fund group and many of the individual scholarships have specific eligibility requirements and restrictions.

Dorothy L. Weller Scholarship Fund Group
Completion of high school or equivalent credits. California resident woman who has applied to, been accepted to, or is currently pursuing a course of study in the field of law at an accredited college, university, or licensed paralegal school.
Ethel O. Gardner Scholarship Fund Group
Selecting the Ethel O. Gardner box on the Scholarship Application form automatically submits your application to three scholarships, all administered by the Ethel O. Gardner committee.
Ruth G. White Scholarship Fund Group
California resident woman.
Ruth G. White: Has completed her first year of graduate study in the field of medicine
Dorothy C. Wisner: High school graduate, currently enrolled in the United States in an undergraduate broad field of medicine.
