The AGMA Foundation awards scholarships to outstanding engineering students at the Associate/Technical, Undergraduate, and Graduate levels. The scholarship program was created to help fill the need for skilled employees in the gear industry.

Supporting Materials to this Application:
Please provide the following information.
1. Your proposed program of study for the scholarship period, including the number of credit hours, a brief description of each class you will take, and (if applicable) a brief description of any research or projects you will undertake.
2. Write a personal statement regarding your interest in, and the relevance of your studies to (and for graduate students, the relevance of your research to) the gear, bearing and/or power transmission industry; your career goals; the estimated cost of your education for the scholarship period and how you intend to fund these costs; your financial need; and any other information you wish the award committee to consider (500 words maximum).
3. List your community, volunteer, and other extracurricular activities.
4. List your honors/awards and other recognitions of your work and leadership skills.
5. Provide your GPA here:
6. Provide a detailed description of your work, internship, and co-op experience including, if applicable, work in the gear, bearing, and/or power transmission industry. Please include the name of the employer, date(s) of employment, job title, and a description of your job duties.
Required material to be sent directly to the Foundation. Letters of recommendation sent via the applicant WILL NOT be considered:

We recommend having one from an employer and one from a faculty member. Greater weight is given to letters from employers in the gear, bearing, and/or power transmission industry, and letters from faculty in the engineering, math, and/or science fields. These letters must be sent directly to the Foundation at foundation@motionpower.org. The sender's email address must match the name of the person providing the recommendation. Letters sent by the students applying will not be considered.
2. Official transcript from most recent time at school.
Have your Official transcripts of your high school and/or institution of higher learning (technical school, community college, university, etc.) coursework, certified by the registrar or other authorized official (may be sent with this application, or sent directly to the Foundation). (high school transcripts are only required for technical/associate level students, and students attending their first year of undergraduate school.) PLEASE note that transcripts must be marked as official unofficial transcripts will not be considered.
This application and supporting material, including the applicant's transcripts and letters ofrecommendation, must be received in the MPMA Foundation office no later than 5:00 pm ET, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Email all information to foundation@motionpower.org.
