Eligibility
Open to Grade 12 students who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must identify as a member or ally of the transgender and gender-diverse communities.
Successful applicants are individuals who have made a meaningful contribution to individuals within the transgender and gender-diverse communities.
This contribution might be in the form of volunteering or wider community service, improving the environment within their school, significant impact on an individual classmate or role modeling being a strong and supportive ally, among many others.
Two letters of recommendation are required. At least one letter must be provided by a school official, employer or community-based organization. One letter may also be a personal recommendation if the applicant wishes.
Essay
Applicants are required to submit an original essay of approximately 750 words explaining how their contribution has positively affected the lives of transgender and gender-diverse individuals and the impact it has had on their own life.
