Fighting to End Drunk Driving Scholarship
In honor of Sam and the more than 10,000 individuals who have lost their lives every year as a result of drunk-driving, John Fisher has established 'The Sam's Legacy – Fighting to End Drunk Driving – Scholarship' to prevent drunk driving.
The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually to the applicant who writes the best essay between 500-750 words promoting innovative and effective educational, legislative and enforcement programs that help all drivers understand the risks of driving drunk and how to make responsible decisions that ensure their safety as well as the safety of others on the road.
To be eligible for this scholarship the applicant must be at least currently enrolled in an academic program this includes current high school seniors and college students with plans to continue their education in the fall of 2021. They must also have maintained a 3.0 or higher GPA in school/and or college.
In order to be considered, an application for this scholarship must include:
A) A school resume
B) A recent transcript
C) A 500-750 word article with thoughtful ideas promoting innovative and effective educational, legislative and enforcement programs to prevent drunk driving.
The deadline to apply for this scholarship is 9:00 AM EST on September 1, 2021.
