A-Action Pest Control Scholarship

Scholarship Value: $1,000
Awards Available: 1

A-Action Pest Control was founded in 1988 by Douglas M. Duty with his wife, Jacqueline, cheering him on from the sidelines. When their daughter, Cheri, took over the business as owner 19 years later, her mother continued to be a source of unwavering support. Jacqueline always carried a stack of business cards with her and would "talk up" the family business whenever she had the chance.

In 2014, when Cheri and her husband Adam purchased the building in Antioch that would become home to A-Action, Jacqueline surprised them with the gift of an engraved "A-Action Pest Control" bench to welcome visitors outside the office and commemorate the success of the business. Sadly, in 2015 Jacqueline Duty passed away from cancer. Adam had the bench engraved again in remembrance of Cheri's mother, Douglas' wife, and the pillar of the family. Now, the A-Action Pest Control Scholarship Fund in Memory of Jacqueline Duty is in its fifth year to further honor Jacqueline.

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one student every year in memory of Jacqueline Duty.
