The Virginia High School League (VHSL) annually offers post-secondary school seniors scholarships, paving the way for a brighter future. Our 2026 VHSL scholarship applications are now open and will close on March 1, 2026. Only nominated students are eligible to apply for VHSL scholarship opportunities. Applications for the James River Equipment scholarships are open to all eligible students and will close on March 31, 2026. Click the buttons below to learn more about each scholarship opportunity.

For school counselors, CCS, DSA, and/or the school principal involved in your school’s scholarship process, your role is to select the nominated students based on each scholarship’s nomination allotment and guidelines and provide each student with our application link, the scholarship category they are applying for, and your school classification number. Student will complete and submit their own online application. If you manage your school’s scholarship process and have not received our link, please email Assistant Director, Samantha Savage at (ssavage@vhsl.org).

VHSL Foundation Achievement Award

The VHSL Foundation Achievement Award, a $2,000 scholarship funded and awarded annually by the VHSL Foundation, recognizes 19 senior scholar-athletes and scholar-activity participants who have excelled in the classroom and athletic and academic activities and will attend a post-secondary institution. Each VHSL member school may nominate two students per category for a total of 8 applications. Please speak with your school counselor and/or college and career specialist to be considered for this scholarship, as nomination due dates vary among VHSL member schools.

Only students graduating from a VHSL member school will be eligible for this scholarship. Click the button below to learn more about our VHSL Foundation Achievement Award scholarship.

Please speak with your school counselor and/or college and career specialist to be considered for this scholarship, as nomination due dates vary among VHSL member schools.
