Kids' Chance of Georgia Scholarship
The mission of Kids' Chance of Georgia, Inc. is to provide educational scholarships to the children of Georgia workers who have been seriously or fatally injured. Kids' Chance of Georgia, Inc. is an IRS approved 501(c) (3) non-profit charity that has helped more than 300 students since its beginning.
Applications must:
A) Be between the ages of 16 – 25 years old
B) Be a dependent of a parent who was seriously, catastrophically or fatally injured in a work related accident, meeting the criteria of the Georgia Workers' Compensation Act and resulting in financial need
C) Enrolled as a full-time student at a post-secondary school (university, technical college, etc.) or high school. Kids' Chance does not fund part-time students
D) Applicant must not have already obtained a bachelor's degree. Kids' Chance does not fund graduate degree programs
Conditions of application
A) Scholarships are awarded for one academic year and each student must reapply each year to continue funding
B) Scholarship funding must not exceed five academic years (10 semesters)
C) Please submit applications for the Fall semester by June 30th and applications for the Spring semester by October 30th.
D) All applications are subject to review by the Scholarship Committee and approval of the full Kids' Chance of Georgia Board of Directors
E) All scholarships are contingent upon funds made available to Kids' Chance of Georgia
