The Jennifer Grimes Lindley Scholarship recognizes and awards young women residing in Monroe and Yates counties who intend to continue education beyond high school, preferably in the field of engineering.

December 1 to February 28
Number and Size of Awards
Two awards of $1,000 each to both a Monroe County and a Yates County recipient, plus a four-year student membership to the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Award paid in one lump sum in the Fall.
Allowed Use of Award
Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with higher education.
Eligibility Criteria
For female graduating high school seniors whose permanent residence is in Monroe or Yates counties and who:
- Are pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering at any two- or four-year college;
- Have significant financial need; and
- Demonstrate community involvement.

Committee/Selection Process
The selection process is coordinated through the Community Foundation. A committee of Community Foundation staff, community representatives and a representative from the AAUW Educational Loan Fund of the Greater Rochester Area Branch reviews applications and selects the recipients.
Award Announcement and Payment
The Community Foundation notifies receipts via email with instructions for claiming the award.
To release the scholarship payment, upload the requested and required information including your class schedule and tuition bill verifying enrollment to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Portal between July 1 and August 15.
Scholarships not claimed by October 15 in the assigned academic year will be forfeited. Email scholarships@racf.org with any questions or concerns.
Renewability
This scholarship is a one-time award and is not renewable.
