Bailey Family Foundation Florida Scholarships

This program provides educational scholarships to high school seniors and college students who have a financial need and have demonstrated scholastic achievement, and a dedication to community service.

If I've won as a high school senior from an eligible high school, is my scholarship renewable?

Yes, your scholarship is renewable up to 4 awards in successive years for a maximum amount of $20,000. The application period is January 1st - Feb 28th of each year. It is your responsibility to apply for renewal each year on the Bailey Family Foundation website and follow instructions to complete your renewal application.

If I've won as a college student from an eligible college, is my scholarship renewable?

No, your scholarship is not renewable. However, you're encouraged to apply again in subsequent years. Your application will go through our normal scholarship selection process.

Criteria

• Minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA
• Demonstrate financial need
• Graduating high school senior or current college student
• Attending or planning to attend elligble HS/college
• Legal U.S. Resident
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree or program

The Application

1. Fill out your student application
2. Write your 300-word essay
3. Wait for a status update (by April 15th)

Essay Guidelines

Within the essay portion of the application we ask that you do three things:

1. Tell the reviewers about your goals
2. Describe any community service or other activities that have influenced your life.
3. Tell us both of these things in around 300 words.

Tell us about your goals: Tell us what you want to do with your life, and how our scholarship fits into those goals.

Before reading your essay you are just a name to us. This is your opportunity to become a person in the eyes of the reviewer. What influences your life? If you have not done much community service, then tell us about any person, thing or event that has helped shape your life.

Write 300 words
Make 300 words your target. Most reviewers are not picky about the exact number of words. However, if you write significantly less than 300 words, we won't know you as well as the other applicants, and will be less likely to choose you for a scholarship. And, just as importantly, if you write significantly more than 300 words some reviewers may also penalize you with a lower score.

• Write in essay form. (this is NOT a letter)
• Spell, punctuate, and use grammar correctly.
