As a devoted family man and father of six kids, Michael McCready is well aware of the damaging effects that cyberbullying has on people, their social networks, and especially on their peers. He’s aware of how widespread cyberbullying is and that it goes far beyond traditional kinds of bullying. Children are more vulnerable to cyberbullying because they have access to technology and social media at earlier ages in the current digital age. A quick snap or video at an inappropriate time can have lasting effects when shared. The chance of something going viral and living forever on the internet exists.
Cyberbullying can occur 24/7 on a variety of media platforms. This phenomenon extends way beyond local communities and is seen in online venues where users come from a wide range of international backgrounds.
Everyone can help prevent cyberbullying by raising awareness about how to prevent it. The personal injury attorneys at McCready Law have established a scholarship in the amount of $5,000 for 4 students who are passionate about this issue. A Grand Prize of $2,000, and 3 Runner Up prizes of $1,000.
Cyberbullying is prevalent and at times can seem unstoppable, so how can we effectively raise awareness to promote prevention?
