BPW/Triangle is committed to helping women pursue excellence academically and in their career.  Through our annual scholarships, we support women of integrity who will be forward-thinking leaders in their field and will support and advocate for other women.

Please review ALL application guidelines before you apply.

Our scholarships are:

  • $1,500 Dr. Lois E. Frazier Scholarship (merit-based; 3.5 GPA or higher)
  • $1,500 Mary Edith Fox Scholarship (need-based; 2.5 GPA or higher)

We encourage you to also apply (separately) to the North Carolina BPW Scholarship.  This state-level group offers multiple scholarships.

BPW/TRIANGLE APPLICATION GUIDELINES

To be eligible, you must be a female who:

  • Is currently enrolled (full- or part-time) at an accredited college, university, or institution of higher education within the United States.
  • NOTE: Current high school students are not eligible to apply, even if you're taking college courses.
  • Has a home address in the North Carolina counties of Wake, Durham, Orange, Chatham or Johnston (you can attend school outside these areas).

Is in good academic standing and attending school in the semester following the scholarship award.

Ready to apply?  Please make sure:

  1. You've read the guidelines above and you meet them;
  2. Your unofficial transcript is ready to upload as a PDF;
  3. You have written a personal statement (PDF) discussing your support for and advocacy on behalf of other women/girls; why you selected your particular major; and your career plans or goals once you graduate;
  4. You have a resume of your work experience as a PDF ready to upload.

The Scholarship Review Committee will evaluate each application based on the following criteria:

  • Completed application and supporting documents (transcript of scholastic record, personal statement, 
    current resume)
  • Your leadership and integrity
  • Your financial need and/or academic achievement
  • Your commitment to give back to the community

TIMELINE

  • Applications must be completed before the deadline noted above. (This will be updated each year.)
  • The scholarship judges will make their determination in early Spring.
  • Scholarship winners will be presented the award at the BPW/Triangle scholarship meeting in late Spring.
  • Scholarship payments will be made directly to the school in the August following the scholarship award. Award winners will need to provide the school payee information for the Treasurer to send the payment.
