The attorneys of the Amy G Injury Firm believe everyone is entitled to an equal opportunity to create a better future for themselves, their families, and society as a whole.
It is a difficult reality that many individuals face circumstances that put them at a disadvantage in obtaining their goals. Our firm is devoted to working hard to give the voiceless a voice and to equal the playing field.
Consistent with this philosophy, the Amy G Injury Firm has proudly established the Access to Education Scholarship. An award of $1,000 will be presented each year to the applicant who offers the most innovative and thought-provoking ideas for expanding access to higher education and a strong articulation as to why they believe that objective is so critically important to the future of our nation and the world.
Who is Eligible?
The 2023 Amy G Injury Firm Access to Education Scholarship is open to students presently enrolled in any course of study at an accredited degree program in the United States, whether a vocational program, community college, junior college, undergraduate, or graduate school. GED holders and soon-to-be high school graduates attending a college-level study program are also eligible for the award.
The best candidates for the scholarship are those who can eloquently describe their understanding of the role of higher education in our culture, how it can lead to the betterment of all segments of society, and how access to such programs can be expanded to be more inclusive of underrepresented groups.
Those interested in receiving the scholarship must submit evidence of good academic standing from their current institution. Such proof will consist of a cumulative grade point average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Application Steps
Candidates for the scholarship are asked to supply a completed cover sheet, in addition to:
- An up-to-date resume, current contact information, and a clear statement of present program level and student status
- The latest version of the student’s academic transcript (unofficial versions are permitted) from their current school; freshmen are allowed to send an unofficial document from the most recent institution attended, together with any other available documentation from their present school
- An original written essay of roughly 750 words (Times New Roman, 12-point font preferred) explaining the role of higher education in society and describing the applicant’s ideas for expanding access to a broader range of demographic groups
