Purpose and History
The Gail Clay Scholarship Fund was established by friends of Gail Clay as a tribute to her outstanding career as Director of the Carolyn P. Brown University Center at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. This scholarship is intended for a spouse or child of a full-time, non-exempt employee of the University of Tennessee or other state-supported, public, higher education institution located in East Tennessee Foundation’s 25-county region. The Gail Clay Scholarship is offered to students in every four years and awards next in 2027.
Eligibility
The Gail Clay Scholarship is for graduating seniors or current college students from East Tennessee’s 25-county service region whose spouse or parent is a full-time employee staff (not faculty) member of a public college in Tennessee. Eligible students must have financial need and plan to enroll full-time in a public, Tennessee college.
The Gail Clay Scholarship is offered to students every four years and awards next in 2027.
Complete the East Tennessee Foundation Common Application between December 15 and March 15 to see if you are eligible for this and other scholarship awards.

- Entered contact information and sent an email to whomever will be submitting a Letter of Recommendation for you, if your application requires one. You can submit your application before your Letter of Recommendation is sent, but your application is not complete until the letter has been received.
