The Quell Foundation Bridge the Gap Scholarship is awarded to Master’s level graduate students pursuing a degree in psychology, counseling, social work or other fields of study related to the provision of mental health services. The award was established as a means of fulfilling The Quell Foundation’s mission: to increase the talent pipeline through scholarship awards to students entering the mental healthcare profession, to expand the delivery of needed mental healthcare services, and promote reformation to extend the scope of clinical and behavioral health professional services.

Materials required to apply include:

  • Academic transcript
  • Personal statement
  • Minimum GPA of 3.80
  • 2 letters of recommendation (professor, coach, counselor or manager)
  • Form 1040, Student Aid Report, or Tax Return Form

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The Quell Foundation Bridge the Gap Scholarship is a one-time, merit and financial need-based award. Awards will be made to those students who demonstrate a high level of scholarship and/or a history of employment and training that reflects a commitment to work and shared mission.

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Student must be pursuing a degree in the mental health care field which leads to licensure to treat clients, and with intent to practice within the United States.
  • Student must be accepted and enrolled in an accredited College or University within the United States.
  • Student must be in a Master's level graduate program (Doctoral students are not eligible to apply).
  • Student must be matriculated and maintain full-time enrollment in a Master's program.
  • Student must obtain a passing grade in all classes.
  • Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.80.
  • Award must be applied to degree-granting institution within academic year 2025-2026, and may only be applied for tuition expenses.
  • Student will be encouraged to help facilitate a screening of the Foundation’s Portraits of Life with Mental Illness documentary on their college campus, support a chapter of the Lift the Mask Club, and participate in community awareness events/activities.
  • Award recipient must adhere to all behavioral, professional, and ethical guidelines set forth by the educational and/or licensing institution.
  • Award recipient must demonstrate an understanding and commitment to The Quell Foundation’s Mission.
  • Following preliminary award notification, recipients must submit a headshot and thank you video clip, which the Foundation will share with our generous donors and via media platforms.
  • Student must submit scholarship check to college /university. All checks must be deposited by October 3, 2025.
