The Saverio Nestico Judicial Award of Excellence Bursary for Law Students was established by Saverio Nestico, a Justice of the Peace for Ontario. He was appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice in 2007 and served as President of the Association of Justices of the Peace of Ontario (AJPO) for over 4 years. He previously served an active role in the justice system by volunteering as a probation officer. His Worship recognized the need to give back to the community, serving on past Boards for Victim Services.
This bursary is made possible by his generosity in the amount of $1000, payable to a qualified law student at an accredited Ontario law school.
Justice Nestico created this bursary to assist law students who demonstrate academic excellence, commitment to their studies, participation in extracurricular affairs, and who are in financial need.
To qualify, applicants must be a resident of Ontario who is entering their first year of law school. The recipient will be required to show evidence of enrollment to a law school.The application consists of two parts: the application form, which includes a short personal statement of 500 words, and a reference letter. Please be prepared to provide your reference's name and email address when completing the application form. We will contact your reference directly via email.
