THE AWARD: The Colorado Springs Branch of the American Association of University Women’s (AAUW) mission is toadvance equity for women through advocacy, education, and research. Multiple scholarships of at least $3,000 will be awarded for the 2026-2027 academic year. APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: The applicant must be an undergraduate with at least 36 earned college credits at the time of applying. Applicants have attended either Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) or University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS), must be planning to attend fall 2026 semester classes at PPSC or UCCS, and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00.

REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS:

1. All pages of the completed AAUW scholarship application, including the applicant’s signature on the Use of Application Materials statement

2. Official college transcripts sent directly by the college to the email address ScholarshipsAAUW.cos@gmail.com

3. A personal statement following the instructions on the application form

4. Two letters of recommendation sent directly from the recommenders to ScholarshipsAAUW.cos@gmail.com

  • One should emphasize, but not be limited to, your leadership, volunteering, job, internships, and other nonacademic achievements.
  • The other should emphasize, but not be limited to, your classroom performance.

DEADLINE: Applicants are to submit all electronic application materials by March 1, 2026.

SUBMISSION DIRECTIONS: Applicants are to submit materials electronically, as PDF documents, to the Scholarship Committee Chairperson at ScholarshipsAAUW.cos@gmail.com. Letters of recommendation must be emailed directly by the recommender and college transcripts must be sent by the college electronically.

NOTIFICATION: The scholarship winners will be notified personally by March 20, and the name of the winners will be posted online at www.coloradosprings-co.aauw.net.

FOLLOW-UP: Recipients will be honored at the AAUW September Welcome Breakfast September 12 at Bethel Lutheran Church. Meeting with, and hearing from, scholarship recipients significantly impact AAUW’s ability to generate scholarship donations for future scholarships.
